Spotty showers didn’t scare off golfers from the 22nd annual Sanford Health Foundation Hillsboro charity golf tournament July 19.

The Goose River Golf Course’s marquee summer event pulled in 37 teams from across the Red River Valley last Friday to raise money for Hillsboro’s medical facility.

Emily Mehr, a development specialist for Sanford Health Foundation, said this year’s tournament raised slightly more than $32,000.

The donations raised during the 18-hole, four-person scramble will be used to purchase state-of-the-art beds for Sanford’s long-term care center in Hillsboro.

“It was a great day. We had a lot of teams out on the course despite the weather,” Mehr said Wednesday. “They were all troupers out there in the sun and in the rain.”
