A proposed residential development west of Interstate 29 in Hillsboro appears to have been given a green light.

Hillsboro City Commission President Terry Sando said Monday that property owner and Total Ag Industries President Pat Muller has decided to push ahead with a housing development on his land.

“The project is now publicly on the record and we’re set to go with it,” Sando told members of the Hillsboro Economic Development Corp. on Monday night.

Sando said the 80-acre plot will be developed in phases and be lined with single-family homes and multi-family units north of AgCountry Farm Credit Services at 802 W. Caledonia Ave. and west of nearby Anchor Ingredients.
