The owners of The Hillsboro Cafe are starting a special promotion to help local kids and their families pay their overdue school lunch accounts.
The cafe will begin offering a cupcake of the month starting Tuesday with proceeds set aside for Hillsboro Public Schools.
“It’s always been in our minds to do something like this with the cafe,” Kate Ehnert, who owns the cafe with her husband, Derek, said Wednesday.
“Part of our mission is to be community centered, but not just by being present here in the community.”
