City of Hillsboro unveils online bill pay system

Hillsboro City Commission President Terry Sando did something at city hall this week that’s never been done in the city’s 137-year history: He paid his utility bill online.
The City of Hillsboro began offering a new service a few weeks ago allowing residents to pay their utility bills over the internet with the click of a few buttons.
Sando uploaded his $213.05 utility payment at city hall in a matter of minutes, three days before the bill's due date.
“It’s not a requirement. We’ll still have a box available for people to drop off their payments during the day,” he said.
“But automating this process is going to make (the payment process) much more accessible to the people of Hillsboro.”
