Hillsboro Community Foundation grants available to area nonprofits

The Hillsboro Community Foundation announced this week that it has $7,073 available through its grant application process to qualifying Hillsboro nonprofits for projects or programs.

Since its establishment in 2000 by a group of concerned residents, the foundation has awarded more than $30,000 to qualifying projects in Hillsboro.

Funding areas HCF supports through its annual grant applications are: civic, preservation, education, health services, emergency services, arts, youth and senior services, as well as a broad category for the “greatest need.”

Hillsboro nonprofit groups are encouraged to review the applications online at www.NDCF.net/Hillsboro.

Grant forms also are available at Dakota Heritage Bank.

The grant application deadline is Nov. 1, 2018 and applications can be submitted to HCF c/o Dakota Heritage Bank, PO Box 208, Hillsboro, ND 58045.

HCF is a permanent endowment fund that supports the Hillsboro community.

The North Dakota Community Foundation, a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation under IRS code 501(c)(3) and North Dakota law, provides professional management for the fund.

Gifts to the fund are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of state and federal law.

Interest from the HCF Fund is awarded in annual grants in the fall of the year to support nonprofit projects and programs that work to improve the quality of life in the Hillsboro community.

HCF is able to accept outright gifts, deferred gifts, bequests, life insurance and charitable gift annuities.

Current advisory committee members are Angela Kritzberger, Don Foss, Deb Mueller, Michelle McLean and Bruce Bowersox.
