Hillsboro Regional Airport will receive a $2 million federal grant to build a new taxiway parallel to its runway in 2020.

U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D, announced May 9 that Hillsboro’s airport was one of three in the state awarded a Federal Aviation Administration airport improvement grant.

In addition to the $2 million earmarked for Hillsboro, Hector International Airport in Fargo and Watford City Municipal Airport will receive $10 million grants.

“Airports and other transportation infrastructure are essential to our economy and quality of life, which is why we’ve continued to prioritize funding projects like these,” Hoeven said in a release.
