Hillsboro city commissioners moved forward Monday with ordinance changes and summer construction plans and prepared to take a closer look at a proposed community orchard and a new city pool.

At the suggestion that $100,000 in repairs were needed at the municipal pool in Woodland Park, commissioner Levi Reese questioned if it was time to study the feasibility of building a new pool.

Commissioner Lorraine Tibert, who has long held the pool portfolio, agreed, “It’s time to do something. That was built in the ’50s.”

She added that the discussion would have to start with outdoor or indoor options, as well as determining the pool’s size and possible uses, such as a splash pool or therapy pool.
